Choose Your Form Factor

Our products are available in highly concentrated liquid extracts, tablets, and capsules. While liquid extracts are the most bioavailable form of delivery available, we understand the convenience of tablets as a method of dosage. After all, the majority of Kan Traditionals formulas have been administered in pill or powder form for centuries. Water decoctions have become popular only in the past hundred years.

Whichever form you prefer, we offer multiple size options to fit your clients’ needs.

Testing for Safety

Once the herbs we use in our products have passed our initial Quality Control requirements, we test them for heavy metals, pesticide residues, and microbiological contaminants.

To demonstrate the safety, purity, consistent composition, and quality of all of our finished products, Certificates of Analysis are available online for every Kan product. To assure that the potency and purity you expect is in every bottle, we follow stringent manufacturing controls that meet or exceed recognized current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) set forth by the USFDA.

Ensuring Quality

We are deeply and relentlessly committed to quality. We test our ingredients in independent US laboratories and assemble, manufacture, and test our final products at our facility in Santa Cruz, CA. Certificates of Analysis showing the results of our rigorous quality testing are available online for every single product we have produced.

Traditional & Modern

We are a modern US company that honors tradition while advancing innovation. Founded in 1987 to ensure that safe herbal products manufactured in the US were available to practitioners across the country, our TCM practitioner founders wanted to be certain that the quality and potency of the products they recommended met their high standards.

Today, we uphold their legacy by manufacturing traditional and modern formulas steeped in wisdom handed down for centuries. Get started with the Kan Traditionals line of products.

In Service to Practitioners

We are committed to being a partner you can count on — beyond what goes into the bottle. Product information, clinical recommendations, dosage data, contraindications, and drug-herb interactions are all part of our expert consultation services.

All of our consultants are licensed in both Acupuncture and Chinese Herbology, and are practitioners who are experts in the science that supports our products and the practical aspects of their use. They stand ready to assist you with all of your Chinese herb-related questions.

Expertise & Specialization

Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioners in the West understand the need for expertise in specific areas. At Kan, we have you covered.

Gentle Warriors formulas support the welfare of children formulated by Harriet Beinfield and Efrem Korngold, addressing many of the most common childhood disharmonies.

Jade Woman Herbals and Jade Man Herbals are a range of formulas that support fertility through ancient wisdom and modern knowledge.

Kan Essentials are classical formulas adapted by Steve Marsden, DVM, LAc, formulated to help any veterinarian, regardless of their training in Chinese Herbology, begin to experience success.

Today, just as much as when I formulated them, the Kan Herbals line of products connects China's ancient herbal wisdom with the modern needs of Westerners.
