    Tonifies Spleen Qi, Contraindicated during a Wind Cold or Wind Heat invasion

    Jade Windscreen Plus is an adaptation of the renowned formula Yu Ping Feng San with the addition of Lion's Mane and Reishi mushrooms.  

    Jade Windscreen is a formula traditionally used before and during seasons where the defensive Qi (Wei Qi) is most challenged. Whether defending from seasonal pathogens or pollens, Jade Windscreen helps strengthen and prepare the Wei Qi for it's duties. This formula also helps astringe the exterior helping with inappropriate/excessive sweating due to Qi deficiency. Jade Windscreen Plus can also be used as a long term tonic when weakness of the Lung and Spleen are the primary patterns.

    The primary ingredient is Astragalus root (Huang Qi), which along with White Atractylodes rhizome (Bai Zhu) tonifies the Lung Qi and Spleen Qi. Astragalus and Atractylodes work together to support the generation and potency of Wei Qi, while also helping to consolidate the exterior. Consolidating the exterior helps to prevent the invasion of pathogens as well as restraining the leaking of sweat from the pores. Siler root (Fang Feng) helps bring the formula to the surface, while also acting to expel exterior pathogens. Siler does this in a gentle way that does not lead to a depletion of Qi or drying out of fluids. Reishi (Ling Zhi) and Lion's Mane (Hou Tou Gu) mushrooms were added to enhance the immune effects of the formula. Both Reishi and Lion's Mane could be considered to be premier Wei Qi tonics, powerfully supporting the Qi's ability to defend from pathogens. Reishi has a long history of use and is also well studied in modern times. In addition to it's Wei Qi effects, Reishi Calms the Mind, Tonifies the Lung Qi, Tonifies the Heart Qi and Nourishes the Heart Blood. Lion's Mane, another well studied and traditionally consumed mushroom, Tonifies Qi, Benefits Intelligence, Calms the Mind, and Nourishes Stomach Yin. The addition of these two mushrooms broadens the effects of the formula (especially on the Heart/Mind) without distracting from the main (Wei Qi/immune) purpose of the formula.

    One can think of Jade Windscreen Plus as a formula that fuels and projects a competent forcefield to keep out attackers, tightens the gaps on the surface to prevent invasion and prevent leakage, while supporting a sense of calm and resourcefulness.
